Worldwide News: “Don’t ask Baalzebub!”

Some of you are wondering what in the world is she talking about?  In the Old Testament, king Ahaziah (the son of king Ahab & queen Jezebel) was badly injured.  “He fell through the lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria and he sent messengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether he would recover of this disease.”  (II Kings 1:2)  According to the Biblical text, Ahaziah (king of Israel) called his injury a disease.  Perhaps, the injuries from such a high fall badly damaged his body. Who knows who could have been diabetic and his injuries never healed. Whatever the case, he sought the advice of Baalzebub (a.k.a. Beelzebub, the god of the flies, god of the Philistines who lived in the city of Ekron; and in the New Testament, Beelzebub is portrayed as Satan, the prince of demons).  The point is king Ahaziah was just that stupid to ask the advice of a false god.  There is no doubt that Ahaziah knew about  the Living God  because his father Ahab (king of Israel) was allied with Jehoshaphat (king of Judah) who was a devout man  “…and the Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;  But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.  Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents [including the Philistines and Arabians]; and he had riches and honor in abundance.  And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the Lord:  moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.”   (II Chronicles 17:3-6)

BREAK IT ON DOWN

Many people (including Christians) are guilty of the same sin as king Ahaziah of Israel.  Instead of going to the LORD, JESUS CHRIST with our prayers, praise, requests, questions, or petitions, we go to the astronomers, bleached chicken bones, soothsayers, people who read dark shadows, ghost whisperers, fortune tellers, hand readers and the like to ask about our future or whether or not we will be healed of sicknesses, diseases, or constipation!

In king Ahaziah’s case, the Angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbit (a powerful prophet and man of God), “Arise go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, IS THERE NOT A GOD IN ISRAEL THAT YE GO TO INQUIRE OF BAALZEBUB the god of Ekron?  Thus, this tells you that the eyes of the Lord are in every place beholding the good and the evil! If the Lord saw king Ahaziah, the Lord sees you and I.

Therefore, the Lord GOD is saying to all of us and the entire World,  “I AM THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD…WHY DO YOU SEEK HELP FROM ALL OTHER SOURCES AS OPPOSED TO COMING UNTO ME FOR HELP AND SOLUTIONS?”   Rather than go to the Lord JESUS CHRIST in unwavering faith,  we call on everybody else and we blame everybody else including the government, the president, our neighbor, the dog, the cat, the uncle, the auntie, the weather, finances, the job, the church, etc. You know what I mean?

Let us turn to the Lord God of Heaven for all of our needs  There is no body like the Lord!   Nobody can help us complete deliver us like the Lord!  I beg you to give everything that hurts you to the Lord and HE WILL WORK IT OUT!

May the Lord richly bless you and yours!

Worldwide News: Peace in the time of Trouble!

You may be asking yourself this question, “How can I have peace when my life is in turmoil?”  If you are in having problems, then, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!   Every inhabitant of this World have troubles because we live in an inperfect World.  You cannot expect others to be “perfect” and you are not “perfect.”  The Bible states that man is but a few days old and full of trouble.  The old Saints use to sing a song,  “Trouble in my way…I’ve got to cry sometime…”    If you live godly, you are going to suffer…it is your destiny!  If the Lord Jesus Christ suffered, what about you?

Apostle Paul told the Ephesians no longer be children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine.  He said this because it’s natural for men and women to be curious to understand the concepts, ideas, and doctrines of others.  In fact, little children always ask “why this and why that…” If you tell little Johnny,  “Its time for bed,”  most likely little Johnny will say, “Why?”

However, Paul types us as little children because we must psychologically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically come to Christ as little children.  But the Bible states that “when we grow up, we become men & women and  we put away our childhood ways!”  Having done so, let us come boldly to the Throne of Grace.   And, if you have not done so, then, its time to put away foolish things from you.

At this point in our lives, we should be growing up in all things in Him who is the Head, Christ Jesus!  If so: we have love one for another; we look for the positive things in others (obviously there are violators who walk contrary to the laws of God); we are a living epistles unto God (daily things are being written into and inked-out of our hearts); we learn to forgive others (as we desire the Lord to forgive us); we are knitted together with others who share the Love of God; and we esteem others more highly than ourselves.  Of course, there are many more traits for believers but the latter are just a few to outline.

Now that we are “mature” Christians, “We are no longer tossed to and fro and carried abaout with every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.”  (Ephesians 4:14)   If Christ is the Head of your Life, then, you no longer serve the devil.  Correct! “You have put on the NEW MAN which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”  (Ephesians 4:24)  Perhaps, yesterday you were rotten but today, you are a new creature in Christ Jesus.  Moving on:  put away lying (now you speak the truth with others as we are members of one another);  let him who stole steal no longer (but rather let him labor working with his hand what is good, that he may have someting to give him who has need);  let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth (but what is good for the necessary edification to others that it may impart grace to the hearers); let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, malice, and evil speaking be put away from you; be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgive one another (even as God in Christ forgave you); and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God (by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption).

In simplicity, Apostle Paul states that “we are to be imitators of God and we are to walk in love as Christ has loved us and given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”  (Ephesians 5:1)   Well somebody is asking, “How to do this?”  Its easy:  do not commit fornication, adultery, or any uncleanness; do speak foolishly (i.e., filthiness, coarse jesting, unclean jokes, racial slurs, back bitting); do not be an idolator (i.e., covetous, desrious of the dainties of others, etc.); come out from among those who walk contrary to the Word of God; have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them; don’t elaborate or gossip about the dirty things done in secret; do not be drunk with wine but be filled with the Spirt of God; and redeem the time praising the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Certainly, all of the above commands are from the Lord as stated in His Word!  If you concentrate on these things, you will have no time to think about negative things!   Furthermore, Apostle Paul tells us to Rejoice in the Lord Always!  If you are rejoicing (instead of cussing), you will be praising the Lord and He inhabits the praises of His people!  DO YOU GET IT?  God doesn’t want you murmuring  “….this person and that person makes you sick….I’m tired of this and that…I wish to run away from everybody…I’ll be glad to divorce him or her…I’ll be glad when he or she is gone…”

Be anxious for nothing but in everything (by prayer and thanksgiving) let your requests be made known to God.  Naturally, God already knows every thing about you (including the numer of hairs on your head) BUT you’ve got to tell Him about your troubles and LEAVE YOUR TROUBLES THERE AT THE ALTAR!  Skip away as if the problems are solved and don’t think about them any more.  Every time, the enemy starts whispering in your inner ear, rebuke that devil or demon(s) in the name of JESUS CHRIST!

“AND THE PEACE OF GOD WHICH SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS.”  (Philippians 4:8)

Since you are a profound thinker put this in your thinking cap!  “Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.”  (Philippians 4:8)

Do these things 24/7 and you won’t have time to be miserable in the time of trouble.  Instead, you will have the PEACE OF GOD IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE!  Mind you, you will still have trouble in your life, but you will be smiling (in the presence of trouble laying next to you in the bed or on standing/sitting/working next to you on the job); look upward and praise the Lord; continually pray; helping others; and find whatever your hands can do to minister to others!  GET YOUR MIND OFF OF YOURSELF!

May the Lord richly bless you and yours.

Worldwide News: Look up to Jesus!

There are times you will feel alone as if no body care for you.  Yes! That’s exactly what the devil wants you to believe but don’t listen to him as he is a liar!

Jesus paid for your sin and the sins of the entire World.  Now its up to you to get up, wipe off the dust, and pick up the pieces in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord!  There is no other name you can call on to help you.

His eyes are in every place beholding the good and the evil. The Lord sees the work of evil doers as well as the work of good people. But it is not enough to be good as all of our good work is as filthy rags.  WE MUST BE COVERED UNDER THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB BECAUSE HIS BLOOD IS PURE!

Remember the story of Job who was a perfect and upright man who feared God and eschedwed evil. Yet, God allowed the devil to test Job who lost every think he had including his children.  As I recall, Job was the priest of his family and he sacrificed every day on behalf of his children.  I don’t remember reading one line where Job’s children (seven sons and three daughters) worked a day in their lives.  However, Job was involved in the daily chores because his servants always reported to him.  Not once did I read where one of  Job’s sons supervised the field hands or a daughter was cooking food over the fire!

Don’t ever think the devil isn’t watching you and yours!  One day the devil appeared (with the sons of God) before God and God said, “Whence comest thou?”  And the devil replied, “From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”   (Job 1:6-8)    “And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? “

To make a long story short, the devil told God that you’ve got a hedge up about Job and I cannot get to him. But if you take away the hedge, I know that Job will curse you and die!  So God gave the devil permission to attack Job.  On the same day Job’s grown children were killed by a tornado or fierce wind, Job lost everything he owned (except his nagging wife):  seven thousand sheep; three thousand camels; five hundred oxen; five hundren she asses; many servants, crops, land damage, etc.  The Bible states, “In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly.”    (Job 1:22 )

That’s not the end of the story!  The devil ascended before God and challenged God the second time concerning God, but this time, the devil said, “SKIN FOR SKIN…PUT FORTH THINE HAND NOW AND TOUCH HIS BONE AND HIS FLESH, AND HE WILL CURSE THEE TO THY FACE.”  (Job 2:4-5)

Honey, just let your hair and teeth fall out, just step on a nail, just let somebody his your car, just just let the store clerk short change you $5.00 (five dollars), let somebody flip you a bird….believe me you will speak Chinese!  Look out, Job was smitted with boils from the sole of his feet to the crown of his head!  On the contrary, Job did not sin and he did not curse God!  However, his wife had plenty to say and she was the one who encouraged Job to let go of his integrity and to curse God!  BUT, JOB DID NOT!  Instead, he said to his wife,  “You talk like a foolish woman…shall we not receive good and evil from God?”  (Job 2:10)   However,  Job spoke the infamous line,  “Naked came I out of my Mother’s womb and naked I shall return thirther; the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”   (Job 1:21)

We’ve got to Look up to Jesus, our Rock, our God!  We are make of the same clay as Job including every man, woman, boy, and girl (past, present, and future).  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever!  Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

At the end of Job’s story, God restore everything that was taken from him!  BUT, Job had to do something to gain his healing & restoration:  (1) he apologized for putting his personal righteousness above God’s righteousness; and (2) he prayed for his friends!  Remember, Elihu (the young man) who came to visit Job and patiently listened to the dialogues between Job’s and his so-called friends?   Elihu gave them all (including Job) a piece of his mind.  He said that I’ve been sitting here listening to all of you and kept my mouth shut because I am the youngest.  BUT, ALL OF YOU ARE WRONG!  Elihu said that the  following things DO NOT MAKE YOU WISE:  age, richness, greatness, wealth, etc.  In summary, Elihu told them that wisdom, understanding, and knowledge comes from God!  Moreover, God is higher than the earth, clouds, and the sky as He is in heaven.  God does not need man’s advice.

Remember, to Look upward and not downward…knowing that the Almighty God is still in control.  No matter what you are going through, THE LORD IS ABLE!  There is nothing to hard for the Lord to do!
