The BIBLE states, “And JESUS said unto him (the blind man), Go wash in the pool of Siloam…he went his way…And the blind man said, I went and washed, and I received my sight.” (John 9:7-11) [Note: Don’t you want Jesus to come into your life, your sick room, the lives of your family members, and your circumstances with Wings of Healing?] Don’t you want to say? “I CAN SEE!”
BRING IT DOWN ON HOME:
In the story above, we don’t know the name of the blind man but he was poor and insignificant to the Pharisees. However, he was important to the Lord JESUS who made an ointment of clay from His Holy spittle and anointed the blind man’s eyes with it! If you get nothing out of this lesson, just remember the following: (1) the blind man took action – Jesus said, “Go…” (2) the blind man obeyed Jesus who said, “Wash thyself..” and (3) the blind man “Worshipped Jesus .” ( John 9:38)
Notice, the blind man did not approach the Lord. Rather the Lord “…saw a man that was blind from his birth..” and the Disciples said, “Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents that he was born blind?” [Note: The Lord “…saw a man…” as He firstly does not look upon our physical or mental issues but He sees us spiritually helpless and made in the image of God.] Listen to the Lord’s answer, “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of GOD should be made manifest in him.” (John 9:3) This tells us not to worry so much why things happen to us or why we are so deep in sin but we should focus on being rescued from our troubles (just as this blind man). Put the Lord’s Words in your heart, mind, and soul, “…the works of GOD should be made manifest…” The greater our sins, the greater the deliverance is! As you know, all the glory belongs to the Lord!
This sightless man was in-the-way as JESUS was passing by. Likewise, we’ve got to thrust ourselves in-the-way of JESUS. Run, I say, as fast as you can to the Lord’s House and be sure to take Him home with you (do not leave the Lord at Church). Don’t let your family, friends, co-workers, or circumstances hinder your fellowship with the Lord GOD! Read John 9:1-41 for yourself because the entire chapter is geared to this one blind man and all the opposition he received for being able to see. It is a mess and quite disturbing but it is not unusual as people will dislike you (like the blind man) for being able to see them as they really are! The Word of God will convict you, compel you to live right, and people will ridicule you for making changes in your life. After all, don’t you have rights? After JESUS is the center of your life, people will not be able to manipulate you as other times in the past. You will establish a prayer life and give everything to the Lord JESUS and He will guide you (away from these people and opposition). If your enemies don’t leave you alone, the Lord HIMSELF will deal with them! You don’t have to pull any illegal tricks as the Lord will take the teeth out of their mouths and put the boils of Job upon them. After they get thru itching and twitching, they will not have time to think about digging ditches for you!
So many times, we think that we can see but we cannot as we need spiritual eyes. You know what I’m talking about! You may think you understand a family member, co-workers, supervisors, certain financial problems, dilemmas, and health issues, but something goes wrong and you become unglued. When you think all parties are in agreement, somebody falls out on the floor squealing like a pig. Mind you, the majority rule or the winning party is not always right. For this reason, we must watch, pray, and cover ourselves! Perhaps, you are the one in disagreement so make sure you are assuming Jesus’ role.
The evil Pharisees reviled the blind man saying, “What did Jesus do to thee…how opened He thine eyes?” [Note: They assumed Jesus used hocus pocus or something ridiculous to give the man sight. Apparently, this was the first time some one born blind received his sight. This was no small matter and the Pharisees were filled with jealousy.] Well now, the Pharisees exhausted the blind man with questions and the blind man said, “I have told you already and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again?” So, the Pharisees cast out the blind man but JESUS found him and asked, “Do thou believe on the Son of GOD?” You know, the blind man did not know JESUS’ true identity; but, he had the “GOOD SENSE” to ask, “..who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him? And JESUS said, Thou has both seen Him and it is He that talked with thee. And he (the blind man) said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped Him.” (John 9:35-38)
Jesus put the Pharisees (who thought they could see) in their place! JESUS said, “If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, we see; therefore your sin remaineth.” (John 9:41) By now, the Pharisees were inflamed! What did Jesus mean? If the Pharisees were unaware (ignorant) of the Power of God, then, they could believe in the Virtue of Healing as it comes from GOD. Instead, being intelligent, they refused to recognize JESUS (as the Son of God) bestowed with the Power of God! Unfortunately, the Pharisees were intelligent, followers of the Mosaic and Oral Laws, and they believed themselves to be set aside. However, JESUS put a real thorn in their picnic baskets! In John 1:51, JESUS said, “Here after, ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” In other words, since you say you see, YOU SHOW GONNA REALLY SEE SOMETHING! Like the blind man, don’t you want to say? “I CAN SEE!”
Have a Blessed Day!
