The Bible says, “That ye may approve things that are excellent: that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of CHRIST: Being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:10-11) If you like fruit fillings in cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries, you will enjoy this Blog. The Lord GOD has a special in-filling for all believers. Read on…
BRING IT DOWN ON HOME:
Honestly, there is a similarity between fruit fillings in pastries and the in-filling of the HOLY GHOST! Give me one minute. There are various types of pastry fillings but there is only ONE Fruit of the Spirit of GOD! As you know, there is a great difference between the two fillings – one comes out the bowels but the other stays with you for life and throughout all-eternity. You can buy or make your pastries and choose your fillings; but the “FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT” is a free-gift from GOD! You don’t eat the Spirit of God – you receive It! In other words, you cannot buy It, you cannot lay-It-away, and you cannot make It! When you receive Spiritual Baptism, you receive the HOLY GHOST and It comes with FIRE! In paraphrasing, Prophet Jeremiah said it was like “…fire shut up in my bones…” It will make you move, jump, shout, dance, rejoice, and above all, it will make you live righteously before the Lord GOD. For this reason Apostle Paul said, “Be filled with the fruits of righteousness…unto the glory and praise of God.”
(1) We can eat pastries of our liking as we slurp down milk, coffee, or hot tea but (like all the things we eat), it comes out through our bowels. Maybe you like peach, chocolate, custard, vanilla, strawberry, or apple pastries but you don’t usually eat a pastry stuffed with all the various types of fillings (don’t forget to include raisins, nuts, or whatever). I f you’re like most people, you eat half of this and half of that (while licking your fingers) and you put the rest away. Within two hours or at midnight, you go back to eat the leftovers.
(2) GOD’S “FRUIT FILLING” (a.k.a., the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT) includes nine ingredients: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22) This ONE FRUIT contains all of the above ingredients and It is a gift to every believer. Again, there is no big or small personalities in CHRIST JESUS. Oh yea! You may be watching big-time preachers on the television but they will be standing in judgment aside you and I. Yes Sir! All the big-shots (like the little shots) got to give an account for their activities to GOD! In fact, the Bible tells us that “Moses was a meek man…” and he did not think highly of himself. Which of these big time preachers can be compared to Prophet Moses? I’ll bet some of the top T.V. preachers think they are better than several Biblical men. Enoch (whom God kidnapped and took him to Heaven) was just a friend of God; but Elijah (whom God sent His Chariot of Fire and Horses of Fire to transport him to Heaven) was a prophet. As you know, Enoch and Elijah are alive in Heaven!
(3) What are you filled with? May I be honest with you? We all must work on our “Fruit Filling” because we all need help (including Constance). Some of us have wandered way off course to the Netherlands and others are in deep, deep waters. We’re so far out to sea that we cannot see land and we’ve got man-eating sharks swimming around the boat. If we try to bail out to swim back to the shore, the sharks will eat us alive!
We’ve got to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Let the Lord GOD steer your boat back to land. While HE takes control over the sails, you can work on yourself. Ask the LORD to take out everything that is not like HIM! If you are filled with hate – give it up for LOVE. If you are filled with depression – give it up for JOY. If you are filled with war – give it up for PEACE. If you are filled with inpatience – give it up for LONGSUFFERING. If you are filled with meanness, give it up for KINDNESS. If you are filled with evil, give it up for GOODNESS. If you are filled with unbelief, give it up for FAITHFULNESS . If you are filled with abruptness, give it up for GENTLENESS. If you are running wild, give it up for SELF-CONTROL .
All of the above will require work on your part but, “FRUIT FILLING! Hmmm, Sounds Good!”
Have a Blessed Day!
