The Bible says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19) You all have heard the same Bible stories over and over but they were written for a REASON! Just think! If we didn’t have GOD’s Laws and Commandments, where would the World be? In spite of GOD’s Word, people refuse to obey HIM. Instead they receive and honor the father of all lies, the dEVIL! Look at the rulers and powers to be in the Earth as they are nothing like JESUS CHRIST! Read on, “Even Righteous People Suffer!”
BRING IT DOWN ON HOME:
The Old Testament states, “There was a man in the land of UZ (not OZ) whose name was Job and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. ” (Job 1:1)
Job worshipped the LORD GOD. While his children were asleep in their beds, Job rose up early in the mornings to offer burnt offerings for his trifling kids. Why? The Word says, “…when the days of their feasting were gone about, Job send and sanctified them…” (Job 1:5) Although Job’s seven sons and three daughters were adults (not little children or teens), they all were lazy, no-good, pathetic, and self-centered individuals. Job still loved them as you can see because he covered them in sincere prayer. Mostly likely, Job sent the servants to fetch them and he told them, “…yawl been playing around, feasting, and having a good time…it’s time for me to lay hands on you and pray for you…please set (sanctify) yourselves and put away your drinking to pray to the LORD…”
According to Biblical recorded history, Job never cursed his children, wife, or GOD! In our society, no one would blame Job for cursing out his children or bosom wife who also rebuked her husband saying, “Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9) Instead of telling his wife, “take a flying leap,” Job said, “Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. ..shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” (Job 2:10)
In my opinion, Job did not deserve to have these shiftless individuals in his family. The bottom line is not hard to realize, Job’s story is a model for all Christians to follow – this means for you and I. There is no real guarantee everything will be perfect in your life or the lives of your children and family. One minute all is well and the next, some one has an accident or disaster strikes. After all that fervent praying, Job still lost everything! Make no mistake, this is not an insurance policy to STOP praying and believing GOD for the miraculous to take place! Don’t let the dEVIL fool you or discourage you!
You see, the LORD GOD remembered Job, “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job 42:10) If you are at this point in your life, keep on praying and keep on believing. No matter how hard it gets and folks fight like cats and dogs in your home! Get yourself into a quiet room and pray. Go into the broom closet to pray but PRAY! If the LORD turned Job’s captivity around, HE will turn yours!
After the children grow up, the parent may become a caregiver for a second time. You birth them (change diapers, teach them to talk, teach them to walk, send them to kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school, and college), but they just may move back home to live with you! Generally, adult kids should look after the aging parent; instead the aging parent may become a nurse maid for the adult kid.
Life is not fair and we all know it! Don’t get this scenario confused with unfortunate mishaps in the lives of people as some folks move back home for legitimate reasons. Please note that every case is different! There are many kinfolk who return to their roots and move in with relatives. However, they replace the lack-of-financial payment for room and board with their labor, help, and physical support around the house. When asked to do chores, they make themselves available without grunting. If this describes you, do not concern yourself with criticism.
Some of these people were wronged by society as employers do not follow the rules of GOD! For this reason, many folks are unemployed and/or blocked by prejudice people in management. Directly or indirectly, you may be a victim. You know there are dishonest company owners, managers, supervisors, and co-workers who dig graves for others on the job. They operate out of jealously, envy, and strife as well as make up lies about others at work! I got news for these folks as their payday is coming!
Maybe, you know people with adult children living Scott free and they care diddly-dang-dong nothing about their parents. They are shiftless as Job’s first set of kids! Lets call their names, June-boy and Lulu Belle! June-boy won’t even take out the garbage, make subtle repairs around the house, or water the grass. Even worse, June-boy lets his old gray-hair Daddy push the lawn mower on hot days without offering assistance! Lulu Belle is too cute to work as she spends more time putting on false eyelashes and make-up, and calling her friends! She won’t wash dishes, sweep/mop the floors, iron, put groceries away, clean up the bathrooms, make the beds, or hang up her own clothes!
Many parents are God-fearing, hoping, and praying to see multiple changes take place in the lives of their children and families. These parents (like Habakkuk, the minor Prophet) pray, “O LORD, How long shall I cry and Thou wilt not hear?” (Habakkuk 1:2) For sure, they are tired and frustrated. My advice to you is do not give up and help is on the way! Keep on pressing forward in the name of JESUS CHRIST our LORD! You must realize that you (like Job) will suffer because “Even Righteous People Suffer!”
There is a strong antidote to rid oneself of such poisons within the family structure. Reread Psalms 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)
Yep! Now you know the answer is in the second clause of Psalm 34:19, “…but the LORD delivereth him [the righteous] out of them all.” Now you know what to do because “Even Righteous People Suffer!”
Have a Blessed Day!
