The BIBLE states, “Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of BELIAL, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, BRING FORTH the man that came into thine house, that WE MAY KNOW HIM.” (Judges 19:22)
BRING IT DOWN ON HOME:
Sin is a big problem in the streets. Whether its stealing, beating up people, killing, shooting, or sexual assaults, IT IS STILL UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF SIN! In this story, a man was married to his concubine who left him to run the streets with other men. She was sinning for four months and ended up at her father’s house. Soon, her husband came to collect her. After so many days, they left to go back home but tragedy struck first. They stayed with a very nice old man in the City of Gibeah (which belonged to the Children of Benjamin) and they were transgressors. They wanted the visiting man but instead they got the man’s concubine and the sodomites abused the woman all night long! By morning, she fell down DEAD at the doorsteps of the old man’s house. Reluctantly, the husband of the deceased took her body back home, cut her into 12 pieces, and sent parts to every Tribe in Israel.
THOUGHTS: Its your business what you do with your life! However, stay out of the streets because there is REAL danger(perhaps DEATH). For example, you may be hanging out with friends just having a good time drinking at a pub, watching a fight, playing chess, or whatever. Next, the pub closes and the PARTY IS MOVED to somebody’s flat. (A) MARRIED FOLKS DON’T HAVE NO BUSINESS HANGING OUT TIL DAWN! If you are married and especially if you‘ve been there since 6:00pm after work, you should be ready to go home to your family by 9:00pm. Please avoid accidents! What in the World does a Dad or Mom look like coming in after midnight or 3:00am to one’s family? (B) UNMARRIED FOLKS SHOULD KEEP STRAIGHT HEADS! If you are unmarried and you’ve been out after work til 11:00pm drinking, it is time to go home. Please avoid accidents! Also you need to maintain a certain dignity to avoid labels as drunk, loose, without directions, or whatever. You might get too drunk, end up-side-down, start talking about the Boss, or telling on yourself! PEOPLE TALK IN THE BREAK ROOMS and SHARE NOTES! Remember, there is no big sin or little sin, SIN IS SIN! STAY OUT OF TROUBLE!
